It’s been such a busy couple of months at Stack St Physio that it has taken us a couple of months to update you on everything that is happening here.
We’ve got a new physio!
In January we welcomed Nicola Rutty, physiotherapist, to the team! Nicola graduated from Curtin University in 2015 and has since been working in private practice here in Perth. A keen (and very good!) Crossfit athlete and having previously played high level netball, Nicola’s clinical interest is taking her further into sports physiotherapy. Since starting at Stack St Physio Nicola has started to build a local following around Fremantle and White Gum Valley, and has been seeing plenty of fellow Crossfitters. Currently in the middle of the Crossfit open, it’s a big time of year for everyone! Nicola has been instrumental in setting up our Crossfit Performance Screenings given her inside knowledge of the requirements of the sport.
Nicola is now at Stack St Physio on Monday and Wednesday afternoons, and alternate Saturday mornings. We hope that she will be here more days in months to come! You can read Nicola’s bio here.
We have a new satellite clinic!
In line with our goal to provide progressive and innovative sports physiotherapy services, we have now taken out a room within Avada Crossfit (O’Connor) on Friday afternoons, with (you guessed it) Nicola leading this clinic. With a consultation room for conventional physiotherapy consults and treatment, as well as full access to the gym, we can now thoroughly assess all exercises in the gym and perform both exercise screenings and prescribe a range of exercise programs. Not least of which are our NEW Crossfit Performance Screenings – more info on these to come in our next blog post!
We have some new consultation options!
We are always happy to provide assessment and advice in relation to all forms of exercise training – and we now offer a dedicated Exercise Evaluation & Programs to fulfil this objective! In this one hour consultation, which runs a bit differently to a typical physiotherapy consult, we will go through your goals (exercise, fitness, race, event or otherwise), discuss what you want out of a program, perform a thorough physical examination and from these findings we will prescribe you a comprehensive exercise program, set up on our software program (TrackActive).
These consultations have already proved popular – it is clear that our patients share our interest in proactive and preventative health. You can book these consultations online – simply choose “extended consultation”.
We welcome Gabrielle Newman, nutritionist, to Stack St Physio!
Gabi is now at Stack St Physio on Saturday mornings, having previously run as a mobile service around Perth. Gabi holds a Bachelor of Health Science (Nutritional Medicine) and has a particular interest in women’s and children’s health, and takes a holistic approach to nutrition – thinking about your headspace, habits, lifestyle and how best to reach your goals. Find out more and book in with Gabi via her website here!
Phew! What’s next in 2019?
We have many more ideas and projects brewing for 2019 – new workshops, seminars, collaborations and more – but above all else, the same goal in providing outstanding service to our patients – this is the cornerstone of our practice.
Here’s to a happy, healthy, proactive 2019!
